1. Make the Dough
- In a small bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it gets foamy (this means the yeast is working).
- Using a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add also the yeast mixture and olive oil, then stir until it forms a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place it in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.
2. Shape the Dough into a Heart
Now, here’s where the magic happens.
- Roll out your dough into a large circle, about 12 inches wide.
- To get the heart shape:Pinch the bottom of the circle to form a point.
- Use your fingers to create an indent at the top center to form the heart’s curves.
- Adjust as needed—it doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s homemade, and that’s the charm!
3. Add the Sauce & Toppings
- Spread your sauce evenly, leaving a little border around the edges.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese generously.
- Add your toppings—get creative!
- If you want, brush the crust with a little olive oil and sprinkle some garlic powder for extra flavor.
4. Bake to Perfection
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (you want it hot!).
- Transfer the pizza onto a baking sheet or, even better, a pizza stone.
- Bake until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly, for 12-15 minutes.
Once out of the oven, let it sit for a couple of minutes before slicing—trust me, it’s worth the wait.
