Brussels Sprouts: The Tiny Veggies That Deserve a Comeback

A black bowl filled with crispy, golden-brown roasted Brussels sprouts, seasoned and topped with grated cheese.

Brussels sprouts don’t have to be boring. When cooked the right way, they’re crispy, caramelized, and packed with flavor. Basically, they go from “no thanks” to “why didn’t I make more?” real quick.

Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts (halved)

2 tbsp olive oil

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)

For extra flavor: Try balsamic glaze, Parmesan cheese, or red pepper flakes!

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). High heat is key for crispiness.

2.Prep the sprouts – Rinse them, trim off any tough stems, and cut them in half.

3.Toss with seasoningIn a large bowl, mix the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Make sure they’re evenly coated.

4.Spread them out – Arrange them cut side down on a baking sheet. (No overcrowding—give them space to crisp up!)

5.Roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning. They should be golden brown and crispy on the edges.

6.Serve immediately – Drizzle with balsamic glaze or sprinkle with Parmesan for extra flavor.

Pro Tip: Want even crispier sprouts? Crank the heat to 450°F for the last 5 minutes!
